Our Mission

Following Jesus Christ, The Leprosy Mission Myanmar (TLMM) seeks to bring about transformation; breaking the chains of leprosy, empowering people to attain healing, dignity, and life in all its fullness.

We continue to do this by being Christ centred and leading by example.

For TLMM, this means that we serve the ‘people’ by practically realizing rights for people affected by leprosy and persons with disability, we are with them.  We adopt a two-pronged approach of actively influencing and advocating key stakeholders and partners for change at the policy level, while at the same time helping to build and empower leprosy and disability champions at the community level. This approach allows networks to be strengthened that can facilitate an enabling and inclusive environment allowing health services to be more accessible. As a ‘hands on’ organization, our presence has been expanded ensuring that services at the grassroots level exist, where they were scarce or non-existent before.

Our hard work and commitment have made TLMM credible in   its work on disability, rehabilitation and community work and this reputation is visible as we are approached from increasing number of international organisations to be their implementing partners.

Strategic Priorities

3 Strategic priorities have emerged for TLMM to focus on health, social inclusion, advocacy/networking and organizational development so their reputation continues to grow.

Strategic Aim 1

Towards Zero Leprosy Transmission

Persons affected by leprosy and with disability (working with TLM Myanmar and their partners) improve their health.

Strategic Aim 2

Towards Zero Leprosy Discrimination/Inclusion

Persons affected by leprosy and with disability (who TLMM and their strategic partners work with), know their rights and are valued members of their communities.

Strategic Aim 3

Towards Zero Leprosy Disability

TLM Myanmar has a strong voice that influences its key strategic partners and communities to address barriers affecting persons with disability and leprosy.
